Talk about unhinged, I’m unhinged. We are comfortably cohabitating with a family of rodents (rats, mice, possums, raccoons(are they rodents?)) or something in our attic. They don’t bother us and we don’t bother them, for now. We got cockroaches around too. We don’t see them on days when we run the oven hot.
Our washing machine keeps draining onto the plywood laundry room floor unless I’m there to physically supervise it. I pull the hose out of the drain and shoot it through the hole in the exterior wall into a mud pit. It filters it’s way back through our foundation and into our crawlspace.
Pretty much every day this summer we run the air conditioner from 6am until about 1am. The daytime temperatures indoors can get as high as 85 degrees even with the air blowing all day. Cold showers are nice. We have no friggin gutters so that’s supposedly bad, but it seems fine to me.
Our yard is overrun with kudzu. It’s part plant, part plague. The house next door to us sits vacant because the dude that lived there tried to decapitate his wife. Know what takes the cake? On the corner there’s a tire shop and the person who fixed my tire was wearing socks and sandals.
Low key tho, I feel as happy as I’ve ever felt. I like our little glorified cardboard box and I like my job and I love my family. I love that each day is an adventure. What a learning experience, tbh.
Okay byeee.
